Your options for fun are limited in a rural location like Clovis, New Mexico, but you have a few good options. Here’s what you need to know about Hillcrest Park Zoo: one of Clovis’s most well-known attractions.
About Hillcrest Park Zoo in Clovis
Hillcrest Park Zoo is a lovely little zoo in Clovis, New Mexico. It’s smaller than the zoo in Albuquerque and has less animals, but that does give it a distinct advantage: the small (but happy) crowds and cozy exhibits are easy to visit with little children or to get through with strollers.
It’s the second largest zoo in New Mexico, and it doesn’t disappoint with the variety of animals present, either. Some of the animals you might see during your visit are hyenas, giraffes, coatis, grey wolves, buffalo, or even a beautiful elk.
The animals are all evidently well taken-care of, and the staff are nothing but friendly. (You should ask about interesting animals you spot at the park!) If you’re lucky enough to stop by during the holidays, you might even have the opportunity to visit during their night show of Christmas lights.
